I get this question a lot. Sometimes people ask it out loud. More often I can just tell they’re thinking it. 💛
And I want to answer it honestly, as the person who makes these films, because I think you deserve a real answer and not a sales pitch.
So. Is a family film worth it?
Let me tell you what you are actually paying for. And then you can decide for yourself.

You are not paying for a video
I think this is where the confusion starts. When people hear the price of a family film their brain compares it to other things they could buy. A video. A photo session. A nice vacation.
But a family film is not a video. A video is what your phone makes when you hit record at a birthday party.
A family film is a documentary of who your family is right now, in this exact season, made by someone whose entire job is to notice the moments you are too busy living to catch.
It is the way your daughter says your name before she learns to say it right. The way your son runs with his whole body and zero coordination. The sound of everyone laughing at the same time on a regular Tuesday when nothing special is happening and everything is.
Those things are disappearing right now as you read this. Quietly. A little every day.
A family film is the one thing that holds onto them. 🎬
What it actually feels like to have one
A mom named Christie booked a session with me on Grand Island not that long ago.
She told me afterward that when her film came in, she watched it alone before she showed it to anyone. And she sat there by herself and cried for a few minutes.
Not because anything was sad. Just because she could hear her kids’ voices exactly the way they sounded at that age. And she realized she hadn’t been sure she would still remember them that clearly once they got older.
That is what you are paying for.
Not a deliverable. The ability to go back. The ability to press play and be in your living room on an ordinary evening when your kids were this small and this loud and this yours.
Let’s talk about the cost honestly

A Keepsake Family Film is $1,200.
I am not going to pretend that is a small amount of money. It is a real investment and I respect that you have to think about it.
But here is the question I would gently ask you back.
When is the last time you spent money on something you will still treasure in thirty years?
Most of what we buy is gone within a few years. Worn out, outgrown, forgotten in a closet. A family film is one of the only things you will own that gets MORE valuable with time, not less. The day your kids are grown, it will be worth more to you than almost anything else in your house.
I offer flexible payment options for exactly this reason. Because I never want money to be the thing that stops a family from holding onto this season. 💛
Who it’s actually worth it for?

I will be honest. A family film is not for everyone.
It is worth it for the mom who is always the one holding the camera and has realized she is not in any of the photos.
It is worth it for the family who can feel how fast this season is going and does not want to wait until it is already gone.
It is worth it for the parents who have never loved traditional posed photoshoots and want something that actually looks and sounds like their real family.
And it is worth it for anyone who has ever watched an old home video from their own childhood and felt it in their chest.
If that is you, then yes. It is worth it. 💛
Why I only take a few
I keep my film sessions very limited on purpose. I am currently only opening four spots for this summer.
Not because I cannot do more. Because each film takes time. The session itself, the careful editing, the hours spent finding exactly the right music. I would rather make a few films I am deeply proud of than rush through a calendar full of them.
Four spots across the whole summer means they do fill up. And once they are gone they are gone until fall.
Sessions take place in your home on Thursday afternoons, Friday mornings, and Sundays throughout July and August. I come to you. You just live your life. And I catch the version of your family that only exists right now.
If you have read this far and something in you keeps nodding along, that feeling is worth paying attention to.
You can see everything about how it works and reserve one of the summer spots right here
Or just reach out and tell me about your family. That is all it takes to start. 💛
