If you want to showcase your yard and go play outside, I would recommend mid-April to mid-October when the weather will be pleasant. If you’re happy just staying inside though, I film all year round.

I’ve found that 3 hours is the magic number for filming, but I also offer a shorter film that would consist of 1 hour of filming. We can figure out what’s right for your family during your consultation call.

I’ll email a link to your private photo gallery 1-2 weeks after our session. You can order prints, download and even share to social media direct from there! A film can take up to 20 hours to edit depending on the length and will arrive 2-3 weeks later.

Choosing the right outfits can greatly enhance the overall look and feel of your photos and film. I recommend wearing outfits that are comfortable and reflect your personal style. It’s best to avoid busy patterns (especially thin stripes)  or logos that may be distracting. Prior to the session, I can provide you with some helpful tips and suggestions to guide you in selecting the perfect attire.

A $200 non-refundable session fee is due at time of booking to secure your date and time for your session which includes all pre-planning. Family Film packages start at $800 and payment is due by or on the date of filming.

Once I receive your email, I’ll send you a contract and invoice. A $200 non-refundable creative fee is required to hold your date, and then the remainder will be due the week before your session.

Step 1: I’ll send you a standard contract and deposit invoice to reserve your date.

Step 2: Once you’ve booked, I’ll send over a “Preparing for Your Session Guide” right away with wardrobe tips and recommendations.

Step 3: Two-Four weeks before your scheduled session, I’ll email you a questionnaire. This provides me with insight that will guide my interactions with your family and my vision for your session.

Step 4: We’ll schedule a Zoom call to get acquainted! I love when spouses and kids join. We’ll chat about your goals, activities you want to include, location(s), and timing.

Step 5: The week before your session, I’ll send an email confirming our timing and location. If your goal is to be outdoors and weather isn’t cooperating, we’ll reschedule!

Location is an important decision, and we’ll work together to find what feels right for you. I’ve done sessions in clients’ homes and vacation homes, in meadows and nature preserves, at campgrounds, in the mountains, on working farms, and in the city.

My first choice is ALWAYS your home because your memories live in those walls. But wherever you feel most comfortable and authentic is where we should be.

This is so normal! Most families feel this way at first. The beauty of documentary-style filming is that I’m capturing you being yourselves—not performing for the camera. I’ll give you gentle prompts and activities to focus on, and before you know it, you’ll forget I’m even there.

Absolutely! During our pre-session consultation call, we’ll discuss activities that feel natural and meaningful for your family. Whether it’s baking cookies, playing a favorite game, or just hanging out in your favorite spot—I’ll help you plan a session that feels authentic to who you are.

This is one of the most common concerns I hear, and I totally get it! Here’s the thing: I’m not looking for perfect behavior. I’m looking for real connection. Some of the most beautiful images come from moments of chaos, silliness, or even meltdowns.
